Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)
Stanimation is a visual animation application. We work to make the app as accessible as possible, while recognizing that drawing, previewing, and editing animation is inherently visual work.

Our accessibility goals
Stanimation tries to make as much of the experience accessible as possible. The interface includes:
- A high-contrast display theme designed for readability
- Clear, adjustable font sizing in the UI
- Keyboard shortcuts for common actions
- Tabbable interface elements where practical
- Platform accessibility integration on macOS and Windows
We believe Stanimation works with screen readers for many parts of the interface, but we have not completed extensive screen reader testing across all workflows. Feedback from users who rely on assistive technology is especially welcome.
Known limitations
Because Stanimation is a visual animation program, some areas are difficult or impossible to make fully accessible:
- The canvas, viewer, and drawing tools are primarily visual and pointer-driven
- Frame-by-frame artwork, previews, and exported animation are visual media
- Some specialized editing interactions may not expose complete semantic information to assistive technology
Users who depend on assistive technology may find certain creative workflows challenging. We continue to improve non-visual and keyboard-driven paths where they are feasible.
WCAG 2.1 summary
The table below is a high-level summary, not a line-by-line audit. “Partially supports” means some content or functionality meets the criterion, but there are known exceptions — especially in visual editing areas.
| Criteria | Conformance level | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Perceivable | Partially supports | UI text and controls use readable contrast and sizing. Canvas, previews, and animation output are visual. |
| 2. Operable | Partially supports | Keyboard shortcuts and tab navigation are available for many controls. Some drawing and canvas interactions require a pointer. |
| 3. Understandable | Partially supports | Labels, tooltips, and consistent UI patterns are used throughout the app. Complex animation workflows may require visual context. |
| 4. Robust | Partially supports | Standard Qt controls expose accessibility information where supported by the platform. Custom canvas and viewer regions have limited assistive technology exposure. |
